MHTF - Meine neue Kleine



    So'n Quatsch! Natürlich spiele ich die MHTF am Samstag! Erstens hatte ich bei Christian auf die Tränendrüse gedrückt, dass ich sie für den Auftritt brauche. Zweitens ist das echt ein Sahneteil! Man hört seine Trommel ja doch immer besser, wenn jemand anders sie spielt. Und als Rolf, Jörn und Höppy sie in der Hand hatten, fand ich die Höhen doch schön knackig!

    Ich bin ja sooo glücklich....

    Und - ist das etwa noch ein ALTES AKG 419 mit grüner gummiummantelter Klemme???????? An dieser neuen Hightechtrommel??????????? Schäm Dich!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

    Ich freu mich schon supi auf Proitze, Dich wieder zu sehen (und die neue :D ) wenn die anderen hier schon im Vollmerz-Thread so Gas geben.

    Doch, geht! Inzwischen färbt der modische, schwarze Stimmring auch nicht mehr ab... :D

    Wenn Du mir einen Sponsoren für ein neues Mikro findest, können wir da gern drüber reden. :D Außerdem weiß ich gar nicht, was Ihr in letzter Zeit immer alle gegen das C419 habt. Der Bodhránsound gestern war richtig lecker! Wenn der richtige Mensch am Mischpult sitzt, klingt das prima!

    Übrigens ist sie seit heute RICHTIG eingeweiht: Eine gewisse Michaela G. aus O. hat mal flugs die erste fiese Macke ins Holz getreten(!!!). Gut, dass das an einer Stelle ist, an der normalerweise Tape klebt, so kann ich's noch kaschieren....
    Ob das der MHTF-Neid wegen der zusätzlichen 2cm im Vergleich zur MOF war?

    hat sie extra das Tape abgerissen um genau an der Stelle dagegen zu treten? :]

    bodhranmaker: Doch, doch, die ersten Tage über waren die Finger immer ein wenig schwarz, dort, wo sie oft an den Stimmring kamen (und ganz ehrlich: VOR dem Spielen waren sie sauber!) Aber das war nur sehr wenig und hat sich jetzt schon erledigt. :D

    Höppy: Nee, nee, bei der Aktion ist halt ein kleines Stück Tape mitabgerissen.

    Stellt Euch das mal nicht so schlimm vor, ist wirklich eine winzige Macke, mit ein bißchen Tape sieht man sie ganz bestimmt nicht mehr und Frau G. tat das auch ganz doll leid! Außerdem müssen Bodhráns Macken haben, daran sieht man, dass sie auch wirklich bei Sessions gespielt werden. ;)

    Hmmm...

    Christian, ist das keine Anregung für Dich, Bodhráns mit "genuine session worn look" auszuliefern? Bei E-Gitarren gibt's das schon ewig... ;)

    wie ich schon erwähnt habe, gibt es bei mir gegen Aufpreis alles. Es muß ja nicht immer so weit gehen wie bei Guido mit dem Zaumzeug aber ein paar Macken kann ich gerne reinhaun :D

    Eigentlich war das ne Bestellung. Dann ist der Kunde mißtrauisch geworden ob das mit dem Blau sein Ding ist und wollt vorher ein Foto sehen. Dann hat er das Foto gesehen und wollte das Ding haben. Aber später. Doch inzwischen haben (keine Ahnung woher ;) ) Andere die Trommel gesenen und wollten sie haben. Wies aussieht war das nicht das letzet blaue Wunder.

    Hallo Micha, Christain unt andern,
    I schreibe jetzt weiter in English weil das ein bischen besser geht wie Deutsch. Yesterday I received my new drum from Christian (MHTF). What can I say? I was a while thinking of searching for a smaller drum with all the qualities and stumbled on Micha's and Christian's design. How I like this drum. It stands very on its own in the CH-family. Next to my RWE and HEL it has its own place and own sound. I call it my "Stealth". Why? Have you ever seen a stealth airplane? It has the same appearance of that airplane; black; the right design and form, I liked this little drum the minute I saw it. Jef my Belgian friend had his a bit earlier without the concave forms but I definatley wanted the "airplane" design. Why do I call it the "stealth"? After getting aquainted with it, I noticed the dorsal line of the goat who donated the skin for this drum and noticed a distinct differance in sound using the upper half of the drum. After tuning it the way I wanted I can't agree with Christians comments on the bass, mine sounded very bassy from the beginning (did you play it in Chris?) and yet produced still a high pop at the top of the drum. The "Stealth" : a secret airplane/drum that hits the sessions and is so surprising in sound that it will be difficult to name one of my other drums my favourite! But this one has a good chance to be the one that is all- round. Having said this; I don't like the strumpf drum, sorry christian, this is not my cup of tea. I'm sure it sounds O.K. but no blue drum for me! ;-) In my honest opinion this little drum is a highlight in the CH collection and coming up with the idea was a good thing and I hope I will have lots of fun with it at the sessions! Keep up the good work all you Bodhraneers! I hope to get together with you all some day!!!!! Take care!!

    I didn't knew that Bodhranmaker could lock up so many ammo in one stealth : clicks, low bursts of thunder, middle range stuff; what do they say about toys for big boys ? ;-) All the best,

    Couldn't have said it in a better way! I've been playing my MHTF (the "original" :D ) for nearly half a year now. And I played it very much, so I can say it is played in by now. My experience is that it changed only a little bit (more bass) in that time, but not too much (like - let's say - a lambeg bodhrán for example).
    Actually the MHTF was supposed to become my "drum no. 2", but I honestly have to say that I am addicted now. Didn't play my beloved RWE more than 2 or 3 times since I got the MHTF...

    What changed much more than the MHTF skin during this six months is my playing! Especially my left hand is doing completely other things than it did with the "big" drum. I tend to playing more basslines and do a lot more with pressure of the left hand than before. When I take out my RWE (like I did last Tuesday), it's like getting used to a completely different instrument again...

    All I can say is that I am very happy (and honoured) that Christian managed to make something so special out of the fusion of my crazy ideas and (much more than this) his crazy ideas. And that nice and talented bodhrán players like Jef and you enjoy it as much as I do...

    So - enjoy your "stealth" bodhrán and have fun!

    Thanks for the review and kind words Micha; you're totally head on! Next to my RWE and HEL which I thought were very distinctive drums this little fellow stands out. Its fun to discover it and play with the dorsal line of the goat. Indeed the bass spurprised me and I totally liked its black appearance. By the way I like the bass on a drum to be able to cover the whole scala of tones until you reach the very high pitch notes. I think this drum really talkes to me. The others too but they are bigger and are more present. This little fellow doesn't give much away until you hear it! That's why I named it the stealth :D Saturday I'm playing a session in Antwerp and I'll letyou guys know how I did. Jef played his allready in larger sessions but now I'm curious to play it in this more quiet/slow session and want to hear the comments of the other musicians.
